The ITC Model is a holistic helping framework that combines evidence-based strategies with kindness, compassion and care. Unlike traditional approaches that may focus solely on the individual with the substance use disorder, the ITC Model involves families and loved ones in the recovery process, providing them with tools and support to help their loved ones effectively.
The ITC Model integrates research-supported and clinically tested knowledge to create practical and understandable strategies for families and professionals. This includes techniques from motivational interviewing, CRAFT, and community reinforcement approaches.
Families and loved ones are central to the ITC Model. They are provided with tools and strategies to support their loved ones struggling with substance use disorders, helping to create a compassionate and understanding environment that promotes outstanding recovery.
We emphasize the use of non-stigmatizing language and promote a compassionate approach to substance use. By educating families, professionals, and communities about the importance of respectful language and attitudes, this helps to reduce the stigma and shame often associated with addiction.
